Once babies start crawling, they want to go everywhere. And if you do not keep eyes on them you will find them next under the kitchen sink sucking on their big toe. This is just as well as every human who hits a new stage in life. They want to try out every new feature that comes with it. Youth are not exempted from the league and matter-of-factly, they top the table in this.
A significant feature of becoming a youth is the overwhelming sense of self-sustenance which is often, perhaps wrongly, tied to financial stability. They go about scrounging for money everywhere possible. This is in itself laudable because in the process, a well of creativity is stirred up; they would gain life-moulding experiences and eventually, fingers crossed, make the money. After all, doesn’t everybody need money?
The pitfall however is a blinding impatience in the approach to becoming successful. And what seems like a disinterest in anything else about self-sustenance besides moneymaking. This could be experience, character building, and networking. Consequently, a good number of youth take to beating themselves when expected results do not show. This may seem normal of anyone who throws in so much effort and gets little return. But in worse case scenarios, they turn to fraud, thievery, illegal trade and vices of other sorts, which is where the problem lies.
Many young people spent their formative years under substandard conditions and they strive to break free from the vicious cycle. This is enough reason to eagerly crave liberation. But unfortunately, this generation has the bars for standard raised so high that it is almost impossible to be acknowledged as successful. The pressure breathing down their neck drives them way beyond rational boundaries in the quest to becoming successful. This is another defect: the motivation behind making it quick.
Becoming self-sufficient at a green age is a beautiful feeling. It is even advisable to work towards that. But all effort should not be poured into money making alone, because the process is one with many stages. None should be skipped. And while some young people are able to pump their account balance to dramatic numbers within a short time, many others cannot. The focus should be on having an enjoyable journey to success. No baby ever ran a mile the first day they started walking. It is usually one two three steps, fall, stand up, one two, fall. And they retire to their butt to try walking another day. Ever given the thought that humans were programmed that way?
